Deadline of 29 December to find insurance
The 141 law firms unable to secure professional indemnity cover have been advised of their next steps, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has said. The firms are in the last 60 days of their 90-day extended policy period (EPP), and cannot take on new instructions. They have until 29 December to find insurance, or will need to close. Mike Haley, SRA director of supervision, said he had written to all the firms concerned and was aware of their different plans.
