Solicitors could pay lower practising fees for the year 2016/2017. The individual fee has dropped from £320 to £290 while the total amount to be collected from firms has also fallen, in the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) draft fee determinations. The draft fees have now been sent to the Legal Services Board for approval. Paul Philip, SRA chief executive, said: “Compensation Fund contributions have also been set, and remain at £32 for individuals and £548 for firms.”
