Solicitors have suffered drastic consequences for ignoring the independence of experts. Writing in this week’s NLJ, Dr Chris Pamplin, editor of the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, presents some choice examples.

Heed Dr Pamplin’s warning and stay out of trouble by, for example, making sure you keep out of joint statements. Caselaw illustrates the perils of interference. Of course, the client probably endures the brunt of the disaster.
