New Law Journal wins the BIALL Legal Journals Award 2011

New Law Journal (NLJ) has been awarded the Legal Journals Award 2011 by the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians (BIALL). Caralyn Duignan, regional academic account manager, LexisNexis, accepted the award on behalf of NLJ editor Jan Miller from BIALL president David Wills at the Association’s annual dinner at the Gateshead Newcastle Hilton on Friday, 17 June 2011.

Reflecting the thoughts and deliberations of the judging panel for this award, BIALL council member Loyita Worley, said: ”NLJ is a popular and highly esteemed title within the legal profession. Its well-written, informed content is up-to-date, topical and clearly presented. In addition, it is accompanied by a website that is easily searchable, providing added content.”

Jan Miller commented: “To be recognised for the work we are doing in the challenging times that lawyers face is particularly gratifying. NLJ aims to highlight all the changes, views and issues that confront the legal services market. We know that lawyers and all those working in the legal world face many challenges, and NLJ will be there to elucidate, make people think, and sometimes entertain.”

The Legal Journals Award was established in 2001 by BIALL's Legal Information Group to recognise and reward excellence in legal serials publishing, promote awareness of outstanding products, encourage quality and set industry standards.  A total of 14 legal publications were nominated for this year’s award.
