Senior in-house solicitors now take home £165,190 on average, in salary and bonuses, while basic salaries have risen by 12% annually to £126,100, according to legal recruiters Laurence Simons. Its research found that senior in-house lawyers have seen their pay rise by £8,130 this year. While salaries have risen, bonuses have shrunk. The typical 2016 bonus was 31% basic salary, or £39,090, compared to 2015’s 39% of salary, or £44,130. However, bonuses are still comfortably above the going rate in 2014 of £31,500.
