McBride v Scottish Police Authority [2016] UKSC 27, [2016] All ER (D) 83 (Jun)

The Supreme Court allowed an appeal by a former fingerprint officer regarding an order for reinstatement by the employment tribunal following its finding that she had been unfairly dismissed. Its order was to be construed to the effect that she was to be reinstated to her role as it had been at the time of her dismissal, which was on restricted duties, and the tribunal had simply been recognising a practical limitation on the scope of her work caused by circumstances beyond her control and that of her employer.
