Nick Fluck, the newly installed president of the Law Society, has pledged to continue the
profession’s “constructive and robust engagement” with the government over legal aid cuts.
Speaking this week, he said that under his leadership Chancery Lane would remain “committed to preserving access to justice”.
Nick takes over from Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, who was warmly and widely praised for her year’s service at the society’s council dinner on Wednesday.
The new president is one of two partners in Stapleton & Son, a traditional general practice and high street firm, in Stamford. Andrew Caplan steps up to vice president, while Jonathan Smithers has recently been elected as deputy vice president.
