While the Panama Papers scandal has had negative repercussions for many people, one positive is that it has put inheritance tax planning in the spotlight, writes Carla Brown, partner at Moore Blatch, in this week’s NLJ. Some of the national broadsheets have pointed out that estate and inheritance tax planning are sensible things to do, and Google searches on “inheritance tax” and similar phrases have soared. Raising awareness of these subjects is good news for private client lawyers.
