The senior presiding judge has guided district judges out of donning a gown when sitting either in private or for the purposes of small claims disposals or interim hearings. How often the attractive new attire will make its way off a hanger in other situations could well depend on the standard and size of the court or hearing room—or shoebox. Where no robe, the guidance continues, a dark coloured business suit or similar is required.
