The Law Society has stated that HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is reforming how users apply for probate.
Lexis®Library update: From April 2023, for paper applications, HMCTS will send an email notification for when the Will and supporting papers have been received. Additionally, work is being carried out to reduce stopped applications and HMCTS hopes to see wait times reduced from March 2023 onwards.
The Law Society will be meeting with HMCTS in April 2023 and users are asked to forward any queries or concerns that they would like HMCTS to address to the email: hmctscourtreform@lawsociety.org.uk.
