Law firm Slater and Gordon has partnered with Hourglass, a charity that tackles the issue of abuse of older people, to provide financial and legal support.

Hourglass experienced a significant increase in calls to its helpline during the pandemic, and dealt with more than 8,000 cases in the past 12 months.

Richard Scorer, head of abuse law at the firm, said: ‘When it comes to social care settings the elderly and vulnerable have the right to expect a certain level of care but sadly when this expectation is not met the ramifications can be huge.’
