The International Bar Association (IBA) has taken the unusual step of criticising the President of the US. The rare attack was made in response to President Trump’s tweets criticising the judges of the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for not upholding the President’s executive order banning nationals travelling to the US from seven predominantly Muslim countries. IBA president Martin Šolc said the rule of law is being “chipped away” each time “Trump publicly attacks and disrespects a judge”.
