Lawyers have spoken out against an attack by the Iraqi military on Camp Ashraf in Iraq last month.

Footage of the attack, during which 34 unarmed civilians died, shows people being run over and shot at close range.

The camp was built by a group of Iranians opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran, on land purchased from Sadaam Hussein. Its residents have been granted UN “protected persons” status under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The human rights committees of both the Bar and the Law Society have condemned the attacks and called on the Iraqi government to allow medical supplies, lawyers, journalists, and human rights observers into the camp.
