Firm grows international insurance capability with Singapore hire
Kennedys has grown its international insurance capability with the hire of partner Ben Nicholson to the firm’s Singapore office.
Ben, who spent a decade in London advising on claims and disputes arising from the Asia Pacific region, relocated to Singapore in 2011 to set-up DAC Beachcroft’s presence in Asia.
He advises on all aspects of insurance and reinsurance law, with particular expertise in property, energy, construction and engineering and infrastructure risks.
With considerable experience advising on large, complex claims resulting from natural disasters, power losses, construction all risk, commercial product liability, professional and financial lines, Ben advises a wide range of international insurers and reinsurers.
Nick Thomas, senior partner at Kennedys, says: “Growing our offering in Singapore is an important component of our overall international expansion strategy. Ben brings valuable expertise advising on insurance matters in the Asia-Pacific region and strengthens our offering to our global insurance client base.”
Ben says: “I’m delighted to be joining Kennedys. The firm has a very strong reputation in Singapore and throughout Asia-Pacific with strong roots in the region through its offices in Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland. Its significant London Market presence and client synergies compliment my experience making it the ideal platform for me.”
