Incoming Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (Apil) president Neil Sugarman, of GLP Solicitors in Bury, Great Manchester, will call on members to help win over “hearts and minds”. When he addresses the Apil annual conference, in Birmingham next week (4-5 May), Sugarman is due to ask: “Help us to show the public, MPs, press, media, even the judiciary that we really do fulfil a genuine holistic function.” He will replace Jonathan Wheeler as president. Brett Dixon, of personal injury firm Smith Jones in Burnley, is the incoming vice president.
