Talking helps boost judges’ morale, Lord Burnett, the Lord Chief Justice, has told MPs. Giving evidence to the House of Commons Justice Committee this week, he said morale is low among judges for several reasons, including the dilapidated condition of buildings in the court estate and remuneration. A mere 2% of judges said they felt valued by the government, in the latest Judicial Attitudes Survey, and only 43% felt valued by the public.
