ABA allows foreign lawyers to practise in-house in the US
The American Bar Association (ABA) has voted to permit foreign lawyers to practise as in-house counsel in the US, although they will not be allowed to advise on US state law except in consultation with a US-licensed lawyer. Foreign lawyers will be required to pay Bar dues, pay into the client protection fund, and fulfil continuing legal education requirements. Foreign lawyers are currently permitted to practise in only seven US states.
