Unfair dismissal rates up in new year

The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will rise from £65,300 to £68,400 on 1 February, 2011, under the Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2010 (SI 2010/2926).

The maximum award for a week’s pay will increase from £380 to £400. The minimum award for unfair dismissal will rise from £4,700 to £5,000. The minimum award for exclusion or expulsion from trade union activities will rise from £7,200 to £7,600.
