ULaw
students joining from May onwards will be able to choose whether to study under
the current system, or be among the first to take the new SQE route, which is
due to be phased in from September 2021. The new courses offered by ULaw
include the Master of Laws Legal Practice, which will eventually replace the
Legal Practice Course, and the Postgraduate Diploma in Law, which will take
over from the General Diploma in Law.
Prices will start at £500 for a short revision course in preparation for the first SQE assessment, up to £12,000-£16,000 for the full LLM. A range of scholarships and bursaries are available for eligible students.
While studying at ULaw, students will have the opportunity to join ULaw LLP, the university’s virtual law firm. This replicates the working environment of a law firm, where students are able to perform real world tasks on simulated cases, deals and transactions. ULaw’s Employability Team will assist students in securing qualifying work experience and pro bono opportunities.
