Views are sought on proposed new rules for the training and qualification of barristers. The Bar Standards Board (BSB) has launched a consultation, ‘Future Bar Training: proposed rules for the training framework for the Bar’. BSB director of strategy and policy Ewen Macleod said: ‘Our regulatory policy about the way in which barristers train and qualify is now settled. Therefore, the purpose of this consultation is to make sure that the way we have drafted the new rules effectively implements those policies.’ The consultation ends on 17 September.
