The Law Society has joined with other professional and business services providers to highlight their hopes for Brexit. They ask that the UK-EU agreement ensures the mutual recognition and enforcement of British jurisdiction clauses and judgments in the EU-27 and vice versa; allows clients to choose how and where they receive services; provides for the mutual recognition of professional qualifications, products and operating licence; and ensures continued cooperation in areas that facilitate cross-border trade, including personal data. The sector adds nearly £188bn gross value to the economy (11% of the UK’s total) and employs 4.6 million people.
