The overwhelming majority (85%) of legal professionals believe that new technology helps them stay competitive but only 3% have dedicated resources to research and development or innovation in their business, according to a survey by conveyancing software company InfoTrack. Of 138 respondents, more than a third agreed firms should constantly explore new technology to be efficient but nearly half said purchases are made on an ad hoc basis. InfoTrack general marketing manager Adam Bullion said ‘the majority of law firms still don’t have the right infrastructure in place’.
