Slingsby v Griffith Smith Solicitors [2009] All ER (D) 150 (Feb)

The strict principles that apply to the grant of an extension of time for the institution of an appeal do not apply to the grant of an extension of time for the delivery of an answer. Even if the explanation for the delay does not amount to a good excuse, there might be exceptional circumstances that justify an extension of time.
