New partner joins banking team

A solicitor with more than 15 years’ banking and finance experience has joined Blake Lapthorn’s corporate team in London.

Russell Jarvis, who has worked with banks such as Santander, Clydesdale, Lloyds, HSBC and Barclays, joins the firm as a partner to run its London-based banking and finance team.

Russell has acted for major funders on deals worth more than £0.5bn in the last five years and brings extensive experience in secured and unsecured lending structures, project and asset finance, and regulatory and general banking advice.

Kath Shimmin, Blake Lapthorn’s head of banking and finance, says:  "We are delighted to have Russell as part of the team; his broad experience of working with many of the key commercial and high street banks is a valuable asset.

“Based in London, he will work closely with partners in both corporate and real estate to help us to continue to develop our offering for banking and finance clients."

Russell says: "Blake Lapthorn offers an excellent platform to develop the mid-market London banking practice, based on a combination of existing panel appointments and developing personal contacts."
