The keeping of the roll exercise is due to commence early next month, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has announced.

Solicitors without a practising certificate who wish to remain on the roll will be able to complete the process online through the mySRA portal, for a £20 fee.

Those who have been on the roll for 50 years or more do not have to pay a fee but still need to complete an application.
