Four out of five whistleblowers suffer some sort of reprisal, according to research into the experiences of 1,000 whistleblowers by the charity Public Concern at Work and the University of Greenwich. The report, Whistleblowing: the inside story, found that 81% say they would raise a concern about possible corruption or malpractice at work but, of those who had, more than half had their concerns rejected or ignored and only one third had a positive experience when reporting concerns.
