Lawyers recognised in New Year list
Lawyers, including legal aid campaigner Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year honours list.
Scott-Moncrieff, who founded virtual law firm Scomo in 1987 and was Law Society President last year, was awarded a CBE.
Bridget Lindley, deputy chief executive and principal legal advisor, Family Rights Group, was awarded an OBE for services to families.
Former Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer QC was awarded the KCB. Pamela Bowen, senior policy adviser for the CPS, received a CBE in recognition of her work on human trafficking prosecutions.
Professor Harvey McGregor QC was awarded a CBE for services to law and education. John Fassenfelt, former chair of the Magistrates’ Association, received an OBE.
