A guide to whistleblowers has been published by the International Bar Association (IBA). Whistleblower Protections: A Guide covers best practice for litigation processes, the interaction between whistleblower laws and data protection regimes, the importance of education programmes and awareness training, and the need to protect whistleblowers from retaliation and harassment. IBA executive director Dr Mark Ellis said: ‘Even in countries with whistleblower protection laws on paper, protections typically have been under-enforced and beyond the practical reach of those who exposed corporate or public corruption or wrongdoing.’
