Peers' legislative process inquiry commences

Peers will begin their inquiry into the legislative process this week, with evidence from the Hansard Society and the Better Government Initiative. The House of Lords Constitution Committee is looking in detail at the legislative process in the UK and has divided the inquiry into four parts. The first part is the drafting of legislation and the scrutiny of Bills before they are introduced to Parliament. The Peers will look at the involvement of the public, the delegation of powers to government and the impact of Brexit.
