The winners of the first National Paralegal Awards, presented last week at a gala dinner in London, have been celebrating their achievements. They include Baroness Dianne Hayter, who received an Outstanding Achievement Award for her support, and Leah Caprani, Winckworth Sherwood, who was named Paralegal of the Year. Rita Leat, managing director of The Professional Paralegal Register, the host of the awards, said: ‘Celebrating the achievements of Paralegals has been long overdue, they are the backbone of the legal sector. The event was a sell out and we are already looking for a bigger venue for 2020.’
