Professor Dominic Regan reveals his tips for the next Lord Chief Justice, in his 'The insider' column this week, as well as potential future Supreme Court judges.

Regan singles out some other judges, some recently appointed, who he believes are destined to fly high. He suggests advocates ‘know your judge’, when heading to court.

Referring to the Belsner case, he urges the repeal of the Solicitors Act 1974, asserting: ‘Many problems arising in Belsner can be directly attributed to this arcane measure.’
