Robert Bourns, partner at national law firm TLT Solicitors, has become the 172nd president of the Law Society of England and Wales. He is a representative to the Law Society Council from the City of London, and succeeds outgoing president Jonathan Smithers. He plans to focus on promoting the profession to clients at home and abroad, improving equality and diversity, and boosting pride in the legal profession. Joe Egan of Joe Egan Solicitors, is the new vice president and Christina Blacklaws of Cripps is the deputy vice president.
