A new director has been appointed to the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law, which is part of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. Professor Christina Murray replaces Professor Sir Jeffrey Jowell QC, who has been director since 2010.

Professor Murray, who takes up her new post in March 2016, is currently a Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Cape Town and a senior adviser to the United Nations Department of Political Affairs. Professor Murray commented that the rule of law challenges some of the most difficult problems we face today, including new security threats and changing economic decisions.
