Former Supreme Court president Lord Neuberger has been appointed president of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), succeeding another former Supreme Court president Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, who has been president since 2016

BIICL runs research projects, seminars and training in international and comparative law and the rule of law.

Lord Neuberger said: ‘There has never been a greater need for the work of the Institute. Its independence, breadth of expertise and international networks, provide an important platform from which to address many of the world’s most serious social and legal challenges.’
