Armes v Nottinghamshire County Council [2017] UKSC 60, [2017] All ER (D) 87 (Oct)
The defendant local authority was vicariously liable to the claimant for the abuse she had suffered as a child whilst being placed with foster parents while in the care of the defendant. The Supreme Court found that the conditions in the case of Cox v Ministry of Justice had been met and reversed the decision of the Court of Appeal Civil Division. However the Supreme Court found that the authority was not under a non-delegable duty of care.
