Top Move Financial gains for RPC
Richard Burger
Reynolds Porter Chamberlain LLP has recruited compliance and financial regulation specialist Richard Burger as a solicitor in its financial services team. He joins from the regulatory team of Mills & Reeve LLP having previously worked as an associate in the enforcement division of the Financial Services Authority.
Jonathan Davies, head of RPC's Financial Services Team, says: “Richard has great non-contentious and contentious experience which will be of significant value to our clients.”
Celebrity lawyer hires former police officers
Celebrity lawyer Nick Freeman has strengthened his legal team by hiring two solicitors who are former police officers. Husband and wife duo Dawn and Chris Sweetman have joined Manchester-based Freeman and Co, from two separate city law firms.
Nick, is best known for successfully defending a string of celebrities charged with criminal and motoring offences, earning him the nickname “Mr Loophole”. Speaking of the double appointment, Freeman said: “I'm confident they will prove a real asset to Freeman and Co and help us maintain our position as one of the country's most high-profile and successful law firms.”
Keystone opens doors
Deborah Brown from Freshfields Bruckaus Deringer has joined Keystone Law as consultant solicitor in their commercial property department. Deborah specialises in projects and construction.
Rolling on
Rollits has promoted two lawyers in the property and company and commercial departments. Richard Stirk (left) has been promoted to associate and John Flanagan has been promoted to senior solicitor. Managing partner Richard Richard Field said: “It is pleasing to see these talented individuals progressing in the firm”.
