The Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) has published a series of daily blogs to mark Mental Health Awareness Week (14-20 May). The first three blog posts focus on mindfulness. Other blogs will look at life after a bereavement and the benefits of cultural change for better wellbeing. Mental ill-health and stress are serious issues for junior lawyers. A 2018 survey by the JLD on resilience and wellbeing found more than 82% of participants had experienced negative stress in the previous month, with 26% describing the stress as ‘severe’ or ‘extreme’.
