Macur LJ replaces Black LJ

Lady Justice Macur has been appointed as vice chair of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC), replacing Lady Justice Black whose term of office ended last month. Macur LJ was appointed to the Court of Appeal this year, and has served as a family division judge, and as presiding judge of the Midlands Circuit. She was called to the bar in 1979, appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1998, and was a recorder of the Crown Court between 1999 and 2005.
