Legal Services

The Legal Complaints Service (LCS) should extend its telephone advice service, the Law Society says. The request follows a poll on complaints handling, conducted last autumn by the society, in which 79% of solicitors said they would find telephone advice on handling complaints useful. The society believes that a single helpline, which provides consistent advice to both complainants and solicitors, would increase early resolution of complaints and demonstrate impartiality. The LCS’s helpline, Lawyerline, is on 0870 606 2588.
