LNB news: CPS publishes coronavirus (COVID-19) prosecution statistics for May 2021

Lexis®Library update: The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has published the coronavirus (COVID-19) review figures for May 2021, finding that there were 122 successful prosecutions brought under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (England) 2020 (HP(CR)(E)R 2020), SI 2020/350, with 43 unsuccessful

Nine successful Coronavirus Act 2020 (CA 2020) prosecutions have also been bought, with nine unsuccessful. These figures bring the total successful prosecutions from March 2020 to May 2021 to 1,836 under the HP(CR)(E)R 2020, SI 2020/350, and 286 under the CA 2020, while the total number of unsuccessful prosecutions under the HP(CR)(E)R 2020, SI 2020/350, and CA 2020 sit at 368 and 286 respectively.
