LNB news: Coronavirus (COVID-19)—HMCTS pilots home testing among court users

HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has announced the launch of a five-week pilot to trial the use of coronavirus (COVID-19) home testing kits among court users at sites in Birmingham, Croydon, Liverpool, Snaresbrook and Wolverhampton

Lexis®Library update: The pilot scheme follows the launch of on-site rapid testing at Manchester and Southwark courts, which was a part of HMCTS's efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus while court activities continue to progress. It is hoped that the pilot will inform HMCTS’s future plans for workplace testing. The home testing kits include three or seven lateral flow tests and will be offered to all professional court users, legal professionals, judiciary, contractors, jurors, witness services and staff who attend scheduled hearings at the pilot sites.

From the week commencing 8 March 2021, the home testing kits will be available to collect on-site from:

• Birmingham Crown Court
• Croydon Combined Court
• Liverpool Combined Court QEII
• Snaresbrook Crown Court
• Wolverhampton Combined Court
