The number of conflicts arising from differences between discovery and data protection laws in different countries rose last year, according to Norton Rose Fulbright’s 2018 Litigation Trends Annual Survey. Overall, the 365 US corporate counsel surveyed reported a decrease in the number of lawsuits commenced against their companies in the past year but an increase in regulatory proceedings and arbitrations on cyber risk, data protection and tax issues.
