Suki will join the team in July. She had been working with London Borough of Hackney, where she redesigned and led a modern and sustainable approach to the delivery of legal and governance services, and more recently she has also been working at Birmingham City Council as the interim City solicitor and monitoring officer.
Suki has had a long and successful career in local government and was president (2017/19) of LLG, a national membership body representing public sector lawyers.

Suki said: ‘Lewisham Council is in an exciting phase of its transformation journey and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to join the senior leadership team, to drive forward the delivery of member’s ambitious priorities and make a real and lasting difference to the communities within the borough.’
