CILEx president strikes cautious note on legal apprentices

CILEx, the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, has proposed a pan-profession conference later this year to debate the recommendations of the Legal Education and Training Review (LETR). CILEx president, Nick Hanning, called on all the legal professions to work together on LETR, but struck a cautious note on apprenticeships: “I hope that businesses will not make the mistake of thinking that ‘apprentices’ equals ‘cheap and cheerful labour’.”
