UK legal industry turnover declined 7% on the previous month to £3.8bn in November 2022, according to Office for National Statistics data released last week.

For context, the UK services sector (including legal) had a turnover of £241bn in October, down 0.7% from October 2022.

Julie Norris, regulatory partner, legal services at Kingsley Napley, said: ‘The UK’s legal industry remains strong. November's revenue dip follows all time high revenues in October and is still up year on year.’

However, she advised firm leaders to continue to keep the economic climate under review and maintain a tight control on expenses.
