News In brief

Law firms will be able to monitor how much noxious gas they generate using a carbon footprint measuring tool. The Legal Services Alliance wants lawyers to commit to sustainable environments that show the effect their businesses have on the planet. The scheme was welcomed by the Law Society which stressed that the results will remain private. The carbon footprint protocol will be launched by the end of July 2008.
