LawCare, the organisation that helps legal professionals and their families with stress, addiction and other difficulties, is reporting a high volume of calls. It recently trained 20 volunteers in telephone counselling skills so they can answer the LawCare helpline, which was previously only answered by paid staff. The volunteers will help out at weekends and occasional weekdays.

As of 1 July, there have been 500 calls to the helpline this year and 8,366 visits to the website. The telephone helpline, on 0800 279 6888, is free and completely confidential.
