The Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards (LALYs) has announced its lineup and is accepting nominations.

Justice campaigner Baroness Doreen Lawrence will present the awards at the 15th LALYs, due to take place in London on 5 July. The nomination period ends on 28 April.

There are 12 awards in total, including children’s rights, public law, immigration and asylum, access to justice through IT, and criminal defence.

Carol Storer, director of the Legal Aid Practitioners Group (LAPG), which organises the LALYs, said: “The fact that so many organisations and individuals want to show their solidarity with the LALYs and the young lawyers who are the future of our profession is real testament to the passion and commitment of this sector.”
