Firm recruits new City partner

Keoghs has appointed Matthias Kuznik as a partner in London. Matthias has nearly 15 years’ experience as an insurance lawyer in the City of London. He has wide expertise in coverage and defence work, specialising in financial institutions (FI), director and officers (D&O), and warranty & indemnity insurance, as well as cyber and professional indemnity insurance.

Matthias has frequently worked on international cases involving multiple jurisdictions and parties around the world and his experience includes advice following notification and, where necessary, dispute resolution in both English and German-speaking territories.

Becoming part of what is now a five-strong team led by Andrew Schütte, Matthias provides further strength in depth for Keoghs to support clients on complex coverage matters, Lloyd’s and company market issues, reinsurance/delegated authority contracts and disputes, and policy wordings work.

Commenting on the appointment, Andrew said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Matthias Kuznik to our team as partner. His extensive experience and his deep understanding of the many issues to affect the FI/D&O market in recent years will be invaluable to our clients.’

Matthias said: ‘I am excited to join Keoghs, which has an excellent and growing reputation within the London market for the fantastic level of service it delivers to clients. I am very much looking forward to working with some of the top insurance and reinsurance lawyers in the City.’
