An all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on access to justice will be launched in Parliament by the Lord Chancellor Alex Chalk on 20 June.

It will merge the APPGs on legal aid and on pro bono, and will be co-chaired by Labour MP Karen Buck and Conservative MP Laura Farris. APPGs are informal groups for MPs and peers interested in a particular issue.

The APPG on legal aid, chaired by Buck, launched in 2009 and is co-sponsored by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group and Young Legal Aid Lawyers. The APPG on pro bono relaunched in 2018, chaired by Alex Chalk.
